Personal information we collect
We collect three categories of personal information - personal information you give us; personal information automatically collected from your use of the Services; and personal information from third-party sources.
Personal information you give us
Account data. When you register for an account with us, we require certain personal information to open your account, such as your name, email address, and password.
Profile data. We may also ask you to provide additional profile information to use certain features of the Services which may include street addresses, phone numbers, driver's license number, date of issuance and issuing country and/or state, profile photos, employer, city, school, biography, and date of birth. Certain parts of your profile (like your profile photos, employer, city, school, and biography) are part of your public profile page and will be publicly visible to others.
Vehicle data. We collect information you provide in relation to a vehicle such as vehicle listing details, vehicle identification number (VIN), availability dates, reviews, and uploaded trip photos.
Payment data. We collect your digital payment details, bank account, payment card numbers and/or crypto details, and transaction information in connection with a potential or actual transaction, which may be processed and stored by one or more third party payment service providers or digital payments companies.
Identity verification data. In some instances, we may collect identity verification information such as a photograph or scanned copy of a passport, national ID card, or payment card, social media account information, or other forms of identification information.
Communications. When you communicate with Skoot, including via phone, email, or chat, or use the Services to communicate with other users, we collect information about your communication and any information you choose to provide.
You may choose to voluntarily provide other information to us that we do not request, and, in such instances, you are solely responsible for such information.
Personal information automatically collected
Usage data. We automatically collect information about your interactions with the Services, such as the pages or other content you view, your searches, bookings you have made, how long you spent on a page or screen, sites visited before or after visiting our website, navigation paths, and information about your activity on a page or screen. We also collect information about the devices and software you use to access the Services, including IP address, browser type, operating system type and version, unique device identifiers, Internet service provider, and mobile carrier.
Location data. When you use certain features of the Services, we may collect information about your location, such as IP address or GPS data.
Transaction data. We collect transaction information related to trips, including the date and time, amounts charged, and other related transaction details.
Personal information from third parties
Third-party services. If you link, connect, or login to the Services with a third-party service (e.g., Google, Facebook, Apple), you direct the service to send us information such as your registration and profile information as controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service.
Background information. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may obtain background check results, or motor vehicle records. We may use your information, including your full name and date of birth, to obtain such reports.
Referrals. If you are invited to the Services, the person who invited you may submit personal information about you such as your email address, phone number, or other contact information.
Other sources. We may receive additional information about you from third parties, such as data or marketing partners, and combine it with information we have about you.

We use, store, and process your personal information to provide, understand, improve, and develop the Services, create and maintain a trusted and safer environment, and comply with our legal obligations. We may also use your information to send you marketing communications.

With your consent
We may share your information at your direction or with your consent. For example, when you authorize a third-party application or website to access your Skoot Account.
Sharing between partners and renters
When a renter submits a booking request, certain information about the renter, including but not limited to their full name, phone number, and photo, is shared with the partner for the purpose of facilitating the booking. Similarly, certain information about the partner and their vehicle is shared with the renter. This sharing is necessary for the proper functioning of the Services and the completion of bookings.
Service providers
We share your information with our service providers who process it on our behalf to support our business. Such service providers include, but are not limited to, payment processors, hosting services, cloud services, customer support services, analytics providers, security services, and insurance partners. Service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it in accordance with our instructions.
Professional advisors
We may disclose your personal information to professional advisors, such as lawyers, bankers, auditors, and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.
Business transfers

You can opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions included in our marketing emails or by adjusting your preferences in your account settings. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account, bookings, or our ongoing business relations.
Access, correction, and deletion
You may access, update, or correct most of your account information by logging into your account. You may also request the deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [email protected]. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may also retain cached or archived copies of your information for a certain period of time.
